Inspired by legends like Grant Green, John Scofield, Maceo Parker, Dr. John, and The Meters, this sharp-dressed five-piece—featuring drums, bass, guitar, keys, and sax—delivers electrifying performances that move both hearts and feet. With their dynamic sound and undeniable style, The Somethings are here to elevate the South Florida music scene one show at a time.

The band, which started in early 2025, consists of vocalist, saxophonist, and percussionist Josh Schwartz (Zac Brown Band, Remain in Light, Turkuaz); drummer and vocalist Jamie Newitt (The Heavy Pets); bassist and vocalist Chris Patsis (The Heavy Pets); keyboardist and vocalist Jim Wuest (The Heavy Pets); and guitarist Danny Mayer (Eric Krasno, Alan Evans Trio). Each member is a master of his craft, and together, their decades of experience playing everywhere from bars to stadiums—combined with a shared love for soul, jazz, and funk—create a musical alchemy that is immediately apparent from the first note. Equally at home grooving on an instrumental tune as they are belting four-part vocal harmonies, The Somethings can blend into the background or have a crowd listening in rapt attention.
