
Based in South and Central Florida, John Michalak is a Grammy-nominated and Latin Grammy-winning saxophonist and flautist. A self-taught improviser, he has honed his skills alongside notable artists across blues, R&B, Latin, pop, and all styles of jazz. John has toured and recorded as a featured soloist with international icons such as Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, Julio Iglesias, Franco De Vita, KC and the Sunshine Band, Engelbert Humperdinck, Ricky Martin, and Jon Secada, while also sharing the stage with Carlos Santana, Patti LaBelle, John Legend, and Luis Fonsi.
Throughout his career, John has had numerous opportunities to polish his improvisational skills performing with jazz greats like Dr. Lonnie Smith, Sammy Figueroa, Duffy Jackson, Nat Adderley, Victor Wooten, and Joshua Redman, alongside many other top local and international jazz artists.
John currently reserves his schedule for unique opportunities to perform for discerning audiences, ranging from elegant, intimate local settings to high-profile concert performances. His solo performances feature an eclectic mix of musical genres, providing the perfect backdrop for any event or occasion.
